For my midterm, I chose to focus my textual analysis on the most common word found in the corpus of A Midsummer night’s Dream: love. Specifically, by analyzing the word’s correlation with various character names, I toyed with the notion of seeing if this correlation provided any insight into the role or development of these characters throughout the play.
