I enjoyed this project despite some frustration it caused initially. It took me a while to get in the groove of using the tools provided, so my first day trying to create my childhood homes was tough, but after spending a good hour playing around with the software, I got the hang of it. I think the hardest part may have been creating the roof of the house because of the angles, but everything else was much easier once I got the hang of the tools. One tip I would give to a beginner starting a similar project s to take advantage of your ability to type in exact dimensions, this made perfecting ratios a lot easier, and made the design of the house more accurate.
In summary I think this is a wonderful tool for people to use to have fun with as well as use in a professional field. Creating 3D models could be useful for someone to accurately express ideas for an architectural design or to document a historical or ancient monument in case of a tragedy. Sketchup has a lot of potential and it is what you make of it.
