At first I chose a colorful theme that had a large rooster head, and it was advertised as having lots of fun animals. But after setting it as the theme, I found that I could only use the free version of that theme, which was much less interesting than I had expected. And I felt limited by the color scheme, so I ended up picking a different theme.
I’ve never had my own blog site before, but I have read other people’s blogs before and it seems like a nice outlet for expressing oneself. I could definitely see myself making use of this blog site in the future.
I feel like a drawback to “rolling your own website” is that since it exists on its own it might be harder for others to discover it. If it was part of another hosted site or on social media, then people might happen to see it while browsing. But having your own website can also have benefits in that you won’t be restricted or limited by another host site or the workings of social media.
